The start of plans for this remarkable center dated back to 2004 and was an essential component of the extensive renovation strategy for the World Trade Center area following the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
In 2015, the accomplished architect Joshua Ramus from REX Architecture NY was selected as the design architect, with Davis Brody Bond serving as the executive architect.
This building has been seamlessly integrated into the highly sensitive landscape of New York City,with a unique and sophisticated façade that communicates simplicity and timelessness. Despite its 12,000 square meter cube structure, it stands out on the northern periphery of the World Trade Center complex. The center was created with the vision of becoming a vibrant center for the arts in lower Manhattan. It has a flexible theater space that can be configured in more than 60 different ways to accommodate a variety of artistic expressions.
