Directly from Alcanede, Santarém, the Azul valverde is characterized for being a non metamorphic limestone with a homogeneous blueish colour. Also known as Azul Monica or Azul Cadoiço, the Azul valverde presents itself as a stone with some hardness and effectiveness for interior flooring or cladding. It may take a high quality treatment to prevent long term damage. It is often used with polished finishing to highlight its surroundings. It is often used with lighter coloured limestones to make an impact in its highlight.
